APPEAL
The Ramakrishna Mission, Along (Aalo) Arunachal Pradesh was started in 1966 on the repeated request from the Central and State Governments in 74 acres of land to cater the needs of Arunachal Pradesh in the field of Education, Health and livelihood. We run a non-residential School from KG-I to XII Std., in English Medium and it is a co- education CBSE school. Presently there are about 1400 students coming from tribal areas of Arunachal Pradesh. They are brought daily by our School buses from the interior parts of Arunachal. We charge bare minimum fees from the students to meet the running and administrative expenses which is a great deal lower than the fees charged in oth- er educational institutions. We do receive a small grant from the Central/State Governments but not regularly. Owing to far distant place most of our staff members needs very high salary for their survival. Moreover, the cost of pro- curement is very high due to non-availability of proper roads. Thus we are always in a financial flux.
Our intention is to spread the education to the masses especially to the economically weaker sections of the society as taught by Swami Vivekananda. Our trained teachers are always in search of new jobs seeing our weaker financial position. Also we are unable to hike the fees taking into consideration weaker financial position of our students. It is a great challenge for us to meet both the ends. Our students’ performance stands between 95 to 99% in the CBSE Board Examination. For smooth running of our educational institution we need Rs. 2 Crore annually. In other words Permanent Fund of Rs 40 Crore.
We have a Charitable Indoor Hospital and Mobile Dispensary units for serving poor and needy sections of society. Our Hospital has X-ray, Pathology, Eye, Dental, ENT units. Besides Indoor and Outdoor units we conduct reg- ular medical camps for eye check-up, dental check-up, skin diseases, paediatrics, gynaecology, etc. Operations are being performed in nearest Government hospitals because of non-availability of honorary surgeons in this remote part of Arunachal. Every year our Indoor and Out-door units serve more than 15000 patients.
Our mobile medical unit regularly conduct medical check-up in the interior part of Arunachal at free of cost. Every year our mobile unit serve around 8000 patients
Health awareness programmes are carried out regularly through our the year with the help of Audio Visual unit on eye care, dental care, child care, care of pregnant women and inculcating and encouraging anti-tobacco, non- smoking, anti-alcohol drive. Annually we have 45000 beneficiaries under this programme.
We run free 15 non-formal schools for children of class KGI to IV in the remote parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Annual- ly we serve 1000 children under this programme.
Regular fire, winter and distress reliefs are carried out throughout the year in the interior parts of Arunachal by dis- tributing utensils, books, stationery, food grains, blankets, readymade garments to poor and needy. Around 7000 poor and needy persons are served annually under this programme.
Poultry, Fishery, Agriculture and Bakery units are run for providing nutrition to children
Carpentry, Printing Press and Tailoring units for giving in-house Service to the inmates.

If you desire to live in the world unattached, you should first practise devotion in solitude for some time-a year, six months, a month or at least twelve days. During this pe- riod of retirement, you should constantly meditate upon God and pray to Him for Di- vine love. You should think that there is nothing in the world which you may call your own, that those whom consider as your own are sure to pass away some day or other. God alone is really your own. He is your all-in-all. How to obtain Him? -this should be your only concern - Sri Ramakrishna |
